Key Workers requiring school-based childcare as of Monday March 30th
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this message finds you all fit and well in these uncertain times. No doubt this will have been an equally stressful and unsettling week for you, as we all try to adjust to the new way of life we are being asked to comply with. Can I start by thanking you for your patience over the last week. The information we have received changes hourly but I am now able to inform you of the plan for childcare provision for children of keyworkers who attend Queensferry CP School going forward.
Last week you identified yourself as a Keyworker that fell into one of the following strict criteria. Your child will only be eligible for emergency childcare if,
You are a single parent
That both parents work in vital roles
From Monday 30th March you will be able to access the following childcare. However even in these categories, school asks parents to exhaust all other possible childcare options, before sending their children into school. This means that if children can stay safely in their home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR SCHOOL BASED CHILDCARE ARRANGEMENTS AS OF MONDAY 30TH MARCH
As of Monday 30th March, school-based childcare will move from individual schools, to local Resilience Hub schools. However, as Queensferry CP School is a Resilience Hub we will remain open for the children of key workers who fall into the above categories. We obviously have no idea when we will resume ‘normal’ service and re-open for all our children.
As a Resilience Hub our school will be accessed by children from Sealand CP School. Each school will be responsible for caring for their own children in completely different areas on the site. The children and staff from each will not be mixed together. The children will be fed free of charge – breakfast, lunch and a light snack in the afternoon and may wear their own clothes.
The provision will be available from 8.00am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday.
BOOKING PLACES IN SCHOOL BASED CHILDCARE WB 30/03/20
If you fit the KEY / CRITICAL WORKERS criteria and think that you will need assistance with emergency childcare next week, please could you email me at qfhead@hwbmail.net by no later than 5.30pm today Friday March 27th outlining:
Your keyworker status
Name of child/ren
Phone contact number
Place of work and phone number
Days and times you will need childcare next week
Please remember this is childcare and not school – therefore drop off times and pick up times between 8.00am – 5.30pm will need to fit around your working hours only. Children do not need to attend for the whole day. You will also need to complete the Flintshire County Council Registration Form (form is in News & Events under Coronavirus Updates) and return to the same email address qfhead@hwbmail.net by 5:30pm.
If you are a critical worker who thinks as of today you do not require care next week, but the situation changes for you, then please contact me via the email address provided to discuss your requirements.
At this time, we are only planning for provision on a weekly basis, as we appreciate that this is a very fast paced changing situation. We will continue to seek your provision needs on a weekly basis.
I must also make you aware that should there be insufficient provision due to the requirements of social distancing and staffing availability, Headteachers have been advised by FCC to refuse admittance to children and to liaise with neighbouring schools to see if a place could be offered there.
FCC are currently working on a system to verify all parental claims for this service, which will be implemented shortly. On behalf of myself, the Governing body and our truly fantastic staff, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, patience and understanding. Please stay well and safe and look after one another.
Mrs Cathryn Lloyd

However, for us to be successful we will need your email address, not least for any video conferencing software we will use and to ask for your permission for this. To facilitate any on- line lessons or sessions, I would be grateful if you would complete the google form using the link below:

To maintain confidentiality for all we have introduced a Confidential Post Box for Late Slips and Signing Out Slips. This is situated where the old Late Book and Signing Out Book were.
If your child arrives at school after school starts at 08.50am please complete a Late Slip and post in the box. These slips are important in tracking attendance.
If your child leaves school during the school day, please complete a Signing Out Slip and post in the box. These slips are important in the event of a fire etc.
This post box is kept locked at all times and only opened by a member of staff. This new procedure will start from Monday 18th June 2018.
Please also ensure you are signed up to Schoop, this is where the majority of our information is sent out and particularly useful to update you on last minute things should as the cancellation of an After School Club or Sports Day etc.
Thank you for your co-operation.
